Plastic Fantastic: An Unlikely Fashion Fad

Quirky and cool, clear/perspex clutches and bags seem to be totally in at the moment. You've probably already seen them on a ton of catwalks and in various designer lines already, but they're only just hitting the streets and becoming available to buy! It's slightly weird that "plastic bags" are suddenly making it big in the fashion world, and I'm not sure if I'm totally down with them yet (it's mainly because I don't want everything in my bag on show), but I suppose they're pretty cool and go well with a lot of outfits!

Most of the perspex clutches and bags that are available to buy are not particularly big, so if you're thinking of getting one don't overfill it! I hoard so much in my tote bag, but if you're going plastic only pack the bare essentials: I'm talking sunglasses, phone, keys, wallet, the odd makeup item or two but then that's it, anymore than that is a big no-no.

I'm probably not going to be purchasing one anytime soon, largely due to the fact that I'm one of the messiest people ever (I also keep a lot in my bag) and, although they're pretty cool and I absolutely love neon colours, I'm definitely not going to be able to keep my clutch 100% tidy 100% of the time. But, for those who think they could rock it, here a couple of my faves:
- Chanel Cassette Clutch (Sadly you can't buy this anymore, but it was so cool I had to share!
- Zara Neon Box Clutch, £9.99
- White Klear Klutch, £59.99

5 uses for Washi Tape!

A much cuter and prettier version of masking tape, Washi Tape is the newest obsession in the craft/DIY world...but what is it anyway? Well, for starters, it originates from Japan, and is made from natural fibers, such as bamboo, but most commonly from a type of Japanese tree bark. It comes in a ton of cool colours and patterns, and is, well, pretty awesome. But what to do with it? Here are some of my ideas:

Jazz up a wrapped gift or a boring mail package!
Washi tape is the perfect way to spruce up an envelope or present. I recommend wrapping your gift in traditional brown paper, and teaming it with some pastel coloured washi tape, using it as you would use ribbon/string. You can also use washi tape to make cute homemade cards to go with your presents!

Make some mini bunting!

Making some cute bunting using washi tape is a great way to cheaply decorate your room, and is riduculously easy. To make, start by cutting off a strip of tape, and then fold the tape in half over a long piece of string or thread. Then, to finish off, cut a small triangle shape out of the opposite end, (If you want a more detailed tutorial, click here). Simple!

Cool-ify your notebooks and stationery!
Wrap around your pencils and pens to create great gifts for your friends (and yourself, if you want)! You can also decorate your notebooks by covering the covers in different colour strips of tape.

Create a Kick-ass scrapbook!

Washi tape is a scrapbooking essential, and can add a quirky element to your scrapbook pages, it's obviously also great for sticking your photos down!

Decorate your plant pots!

Washi tape is a great tool you can use to revamp your old plant pots, and you can use it to make some cute labels for pots to!
